Y&R Update 4/29 - 5/3

Monday 4/29: Words can't express the love that was displayed on today's episode of Y&R. It was not a scripted episode, it was the cast, including  Shemar Moore (Malcom),Victoria Rowell (Drucilla) and Mishael Morgan (Hillary), all sharing how they first met Kristoff and their wonderful interactions with him. Y&R showed interviews that Kristoff has done in the past speaking highly of his fellow cast. This episode had me laughing and crying. This was a great way to honor the late, Kristoff St. John

Tuesday 4/30: At Newman Enterprises, Nikki is sitting behind Victor's desk doing some paperwork when Victoria walks in inquiring about her father. Nikki informs Victoria that Victor is adamant about them not knowing his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Sharon and Rey are cuddling on the couch at her place talking about the Winters family when Rey receives a text from Nikki needing to see him. Sharon inquires if it’s about Victor and he says he thinks so and leaves to go handle business. Later, Rey arrives at Newman, he and Nikki talk about her hiring him to find Victor and wants him to start ASAP. Rey returns to Sharon and informs her that he needs to leave for Vegas as soon as possible. Sharon seductively squeezes her way on the trip and an excited Rey obliges.
Meanwhile back at Newman, Nikki tells Victoria that Rey is going to Vegas tonight to start looking for Victor. The conversation takes a turn when Victoria shares that she and Billy are getting close again and that he even proposed and Nikki notices her apprehension and tells Victoria to tell it go and that she needs to go ahead and marry that man because life is too short. Later while Nikki is by herself she looks at her laptop to see some news about something going on in Vegas and Nikki immediately thinks that Victor has something to do with it.

Phyllis decided to pop up on Billy at Jabot. Billy asked what she was doing there and if she wants the secretary's job. They argue over the money that Billy said that he would give to her because she hasn’t received it yet. He told her that he would get it to her and when he does, everything is a wrap.

At the Abbott Mansion, Summer comes down the stairs and sees Kyle sitting on the couch. She makes a comment about thinking he would be at work since he threw her away after getting the parts he needed to save his precious Lola, they argue and didn't see Jack walk in. The argument continues with Summer saying that Lola can't give him what she can. Kyle stops her and says that he isn't going to let her bad mouth her and reminds her that the so called marriage is over and Jack interrupts, Summer runs upstairs. Kyle tells his dad that he doesn't know what to do because he is in love with Lola. Jack tells him to go handle his business and he will check on Summer. Summer comes down the stairs right after Kyle leaves and confirms with Jack that he left. They sit down and talk and Summer rants about how she married a man that was in love with another woman and that he isn't even giving it a year to try. Jack lets her know that love has no expiration. He then encourages her to take a vacation or go back to work at Newman while they go through a divorce and Summer stops him before Jack could finish the word divorce. Jack leaves and Summer calls her mother crying.

Kyle goes to visit Lola at Society and she thinks Kyle is there to end things with her and he says NOOO, he's ending things with Summer. Lola is excited about the news and they embrace each other in a loving hug. Lola asked how this is going to go and Kyle says it will start with her moving out then they will proceed to the divorce. They share a passionate kiss and Kyle tries to sweet talk her into leaving work but Lola says that she can't leave until late and he asked if she would like a late night surprise. Kyle is trying to get him some Lola tonight.

At the GCAC, Summer and Phyllis are talking in her hotel suite. Phyllis asked what was wrong and Summer shares that she was right about Kyle and that he is leaving her for his precious Lola. Summer goes on about how her and Kyle's love was the perfect love and not the love that he shares with Lola. Summer is telling her mother that she is going to fight for her man (yes, the one that don't want her. Poor child is setting herself up for failure). Phyllis tries to convince Summer that she needs to make a clean break from Kyle. Summer says you know what you're right and talks about how she is going to miss working at her new job. The light bulb goes off in Phyllis' head and she tells Summer to share what's going on at Jabot and Summer tells her about Jabot collective and Phyllis tells her to fight to keep the job. You know that Phyllis has something up her sleeve.

At Chancellor Park, Lola is sitting on a bench, holding on to her necklace smiling when Summer shows up. Summer congratulates her on Society and tells her that she doesn't blame her for the issues with her and Kyle. Lola tries to gives Summer some peace by letting her know that Kyle does appreciate what she did, Summer seems surprised at the kind words. Lola makes her exit by telling Summer that she has to get back to Society. Back at Society, Lola strolls into the prep kitchen and sees a single rose and letter from Kyle and she's all giddy. Now Kyle is somewhere with a contractor planning something special for Lola.

At the Coffee House, Lauren and Phyllis are having coffee while Phyllis is briefly telling Lauren about her upcoming adventure in online accessories. Lauren is thrilled to hear the news and then guess who struts in.....Mia. They share kind pleasantries and Lauren offers her seat to Mia because she needs to leave. Mia takes Lauren's seat and Phyllis notices Mia's sunglasses on her head and asked to see them. Phyllis compliments Mia on her knock off glasses, and yes she called them knock offs in front of Mia, and said that she could barely tell that they weren't legit and then informed Mia that she is exactly the woman that she wants to target for her new business, women who want to look like a million bucks but can't afford it. Mia let the shade go and tells Phyllis that she is now a single woman. Phyllis lets her know that she knows what starting over looks like then asked Mia to make a list of all of the places she buys her accessories. Phyllis ain't trying to be friendly, she is trying to start a business.

At Society, Victoria and Billy are viewing the menu when Billy tells her that there is something that they need to talk about. Victoria said she already knows what it is, he gave Phyllis the money and Billy looks dumbfounded. Billy asked how she knows and she let him know that his body language gave it away whenever Phyllis' name came up. Billy told Victoria that he let Phyllis know that everything is over and she won't have anything to worry about. They continue to have a pleasant meal.

Later at Jabot, Summer shows up to inform Jack that she wants to keep her job and Jack asked if she can handle it with Kyle still working there and Summer says that she can. Jack said wants to think on it and Summer leaves.

Later at the Crimson Lights, Sharon walks in and sees Mia. They talk about the baby and Sharon lets her know that if it's Reys, he will be there for the baby but then she threw in the low blow. Sharon called her out and told her that they know the only reason Mia is being so nice is so that Rey doesn't turn her in for what she did to Lola. Mia is taken back that Sharon knows. Mia wants to know why Rey told Sharon and Sharon let her know that she and Rey don't keep secrets. Mia informed Sharon that this should be a teaching moment, letting her know that Mia could be dangerous. But Sharon continued by saying that if she knows any better that she would stay out of her way.

Wednesday 5/1: At Society, Abby places a photo of Neil on one of the counters and tells Lola that it's only fitting that he is honored. They continue to talk, sharing their concern about Devon since neither one of them has spoken to him since Neil's death. They change the conversation and Lola informs Abby that Kyle is leaving Summer for her and that she ran into Summer at the park. Abby shares her excitement and asked if there was drama. Lola tells Abby that Summer was actually mature and Abby seemed surprised. While they were talking, Lola receives a text from Kyle and she smiles. Abby asked what that smile was about and she informs her that Kyle is planning something special for them. Abby tells her not to worry about Summer, wishes them luck then returns to work.  Lola then goes off into daydreaming what their night might be like but coming up with horrible endings. Abby comes back and sees Lola daydreaming and tells her to quit over thinking their night. Abby tries to calm her down by letting her know that everything is going to be okay. Abby comes over to check on them, they share wonderful words about Lola's meal. Abby calls Lola over and Traci introduces Lola to Jill then Devon and Elena walks in. They all share their condolences to Devon, he thanks them and lets them know that he and Elena are there to have dinner and talk business. Abby leads them to a table and Devon shares how important his dad was to him as he glances at the picture of his dad. Elena shares her grief about the passing of her mother and then they go back to talking about music. They share their first concert stories and have great laughter then all of a sudden Devon imagines Elena as Hillary.

Then he made his way to the Crimson Lights when he decided to go ahead and make the call. He left Lily a message saying that he was checking on her and that he will respect her wishes and not call her again, he begins to cry, wishes her well and says goodbye.

Here comes my tears, I was not ready for this moment.

At Victoria's, Billy is impatiently waiting for Victoria to finish getting ready. When she finally comes to the living room Billy sees her and said forget the launch, lets go to the bedroom (she was cute but she wasn't that cute). Victoria tells Billy that she needs to show up since their father is in Vegas doing God knows what with God knows who and then all of a sudden the doorbell rings and guess who walks in. Big Daddy Vic. Victoria questions Victor about his whereabouts and lies and Victor downplays it to a business deal but then tells her that he met her rocker friend and says that he was very interested in her. They continue to communicate on what the real deal is and why Victor left Nikki right after she was released from prison. Kyle says he can't do that. Summer realizes that Kyle is actually still in love with Lola and that all those loving things that were said to her were really meant for Lola. Summer is now all heartbroken and finally sees that Kyle did all of these things for Lola. Finally Kyle admits that he can't lie anymore and that he loves Lola and always have. Here comes the moment every Y&R fan has been impatiently waiting on. The real memorial episodes honoring Kristoff St John aka Neil Winters. The next couple of episodes may be hard for me to share but I will do my best to cover Neil's portion with dignity and class.

Wednesday 4/24: Y&R start off with Ashley and Jack going back and forth about their companies and Abby walks in. They ask her how the launch went and she responds "there's no easy way to say this but Neil died last night.

The Winters family gathers at Devon's and Lily is questioning Nate about Neil's health. She wants to know how and why he died but Nate has no answers. The family decides to turn off their phones because they don't want to deal with any phone calls. The mention of the funeral comes up and Lily says that she can't handle that right now. Cane and Nate decide that they will handle funeral arrangements and will not make any decisions without conferring with her first. The twins are comforting each other as they're dealing with the loss of their grandfather and Devon is trying to keep busy and lightly snaps at Ana when she offers to help. Ana apologizes to Devon and says that she canceled his meetings and that Mariah and Tessa sends their love.Devon tells her it's okay but that she needs to acknowledge the others whom are hurting. Ana receives what he is saying but reminds him that he just lost his wife a year ago and she saw what that did to him. Devon went on about all of the stress he put on Neil with work, prosecuting Lily and her going to jail, and work and blamed himself for Neil having a stroke. Lily overhears and agreed that there was stress but that she should be the blame of everything. Nate explains to Lily that Neil died of natural causes and there's nothing that anyone could've done. Lily doesn't accept that response, she list the reasons of his stressed and she breaks by screaming that she killed Hillary and now she killed her father and she storms out of the penthouse and Cane runs after her. The twins and Devon attempt to call Lily but no answer. The twins worry about their mother and Devon tries his best to comfort them. They say that they should go home in case she shows up there and Devon thinks that's a good idea. Nate offers to take them home and Devon suggest that Ana rides with them. Mariah arrives to the condo just as Devon is about to close the door and he welcomes her in. Lily is at Crimson Lights sitting at a table by herself when Cane arrives and she tries to tell him that this is not the time and but he let's her know that he is there for her and she recalls her father's last words to her, "I love you, babygirl" and continues to break because she has now lost both of her parents. Later, Lily stands at the coffee counter and she sobs uncontrollably and Cane says forget what their going through and he just holds his wife and she lets him. Back at Devon's, he is alone where he breaks down on the stairs.

Meanwhile at Newman Enterprises, Nikki storms into Victor's office questioning him about his whereabouts and why did he go to Victoria's first before coming home to her when he got back into town. She goes on about the psychiatrist receipts when Victor gets a phone call from Jack. Victor tells Jack that he doesn't have time to talk but Jack says that he needs to inform him that Neil had passed away. Victor is heart broken about the news and shares the news with Nikki while still on the phone with Jack. Victor continues to phone call on speaker phone. Jack and Victor end the phone call amicably and Nikki breaks down crying. Nikki and Victor reminisce about the great things about Neil. Nikki tries to bring up why Victor was gone and Victor shuts that down and says that right now they just need to deal with Neil's death.

At the Abbott mansion, Abby, Ashley and Jack are heartbroken as well as they speak highly of Neil and reminisce of fun times and also times in which Neil saved them from their struggles. Jack and Ashley end in a sibling embrace.

At the Crimson Lights, Mariah and Tessa talk about Neil and Mariah says that she has to make a statement on GC Buzz but that she can't do anything without Devon's approval. She is wondering how she is going to respond to the phone calls and inquiries from fans and employees regarding this loss. Mariah meets Tessa back at their apartment where Tessa is on the fire escape singing her song and Mariah sits and cries due to the loss of Neil.

Wonderful way to show the passing of Neil Winters, they have him passing in peace. Thank you Y&R for the respect displayed for Kristoff.
